Sunday- Great Progress!

Let me start off by saying how sorry I am for not keeping you all posted during the last few days. I was feeling under the weather and was unable to update the blog. Now to catch you all up; on Thursday the doctors made the decision to send my mom straight form ICU to the rehab center! She is currently at the Helen Hays rehabilitation center where she is receiving physical therapy as well as occupational therapy. Yesterday she was able to shower herself, and use a wheel chair to get around! All the doctors are astonished that she got out of the ICU so quickly. After the accident they told us that they thought it would be at least six weeks before she was out of the ICU, not to mention stepdown and rehab. Although I miss her terribly as does everyone I know that if she were to come home now she would be in so much pain that it wouldn't be like having my mom here at all. At Helen Hays she is working hard so that she will be home soon but at the same time be feeling good when she gets home. God Bless.

Jenn-
So glad to hear that your mom is making such a speedy recovery! It is so great to hear that she becomes more and more independent everyday. I'm so sorry to hear that you didn't feel great this weekend, and of course that you had to miss the first Stage Right show. Hopefully you will be able to be in the one later tonight!
God Bless,
Liz

jenn--

I've been remiss in following the blog for at least 1 week! been traveling just today am I able to read all the great news about your mom! This is all fantastic and yes, let her stay at the Helen Hayes Center as long as needed so that she is in tip-top shape for all of you upon her return! We ALL missed you at Stage Right this weekend, but were thinking of you and the rest of the family. Keep the lipstick coming as it quite important to feel good--we all need color in our lives! Hope to be in touch with Maureen directly real soon! LOve and hugs to all! the Noels!

Dear Jennifer- Great News!! Helen Hayes is a good place. My Sister-in-law Debbie was there after having hip replacement surgery in 2004.
Best Wishes,

I haven't checked the blog in a while, but Maureen and you all have been in my prayers. I'm so happy that Maureen's recovery has been going so well. You are, I'm sure a source of strength for her, your siblings, and your Dad. Be assured of my continued prayers as this miracle continues.

God is AWESOME!

We have our 25th Prep reunion this weekend. Maureen will be in our prayers at Mass and we will toast to her!
