Easter Sunday- Good News!

Once again God blessed us with a Easter miracle! My mom had the trach taken out will now allows her to talk! Also the nurses have taken her off the feeding tube and have stared to give her real food, starting with apple sauce. If all continues to go well she will hopefully graduate to a step down unit by Tuesday of this week. Aside from all this great news the only setback was that she had some air in her lung cavity so she was unable to attend mass with us today. Thank you for your prayers and support as my mom continues to make huge strides in my her recovery.

Hi Jennifer,
I am Denise, your mother's cousin. I have been reading your blog everyday since I heard of your mother's accident. Thank you so much for being a lifeline for myself and my family, we all talk to each other everyday, my kids and my brothers, and we are all praying together even though we are miles apart. Your are an inspiration and a very incredible young lady. I know that when I had the opportunity to care for my parents when they were ill people would always praise me and so many times I was surprised by that, I would think to myself, but I am their daughter and I wouldn't have it any other way. Even though I am so much older than you, I just want you to know how much I understand your love, and devotion to your mother. I wish I could hug you and tell you in person how wonderful you are, hopefully someday soon I will be able to.
What wonderful Easter news your were able to deliver today, your mother is doing so well and our prayers will remain with all of you.
Please tell you dad that we loved the picture of your parents and we wish them many more happy anniversaries! Thank you for for keeping us all informed and making us all feel apart of your mother's recovery, we're cheering her on from Savannah!
Happy Easter! With love, Denise

Oh Jennifer - Your Mom and I were married at the same time and pregnant at the same time with our Princesses! - I am so glad to hear she is doing well and I am saddened that I did not know she was hurt. I have not seen Maureen in a few years but not a day goes by that something - mostly something small - makes me think of her and smile. She is a special lady and I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Jennifer, Maureen and family, What a wonderful Easter gift that you were able to speak with your mom and see some wonderful progress in her recovery. As challenging as this time is, I can read in your posts how close this is bringing you all and how you are finding so much appreciation for the smallest moments and measures of progress. We're keeping you all in our hearts and our prayers and I have no doubt that Moe will fight her way back to wellness very soon. Rooting you on! Sue Burton and family

Hi Jenn!
Just so you know, Father Tom gave the Homily on Easter Sunday about your Mom's accident. He explained how your Mom's so far great recovery was a miracle of the prayers of God's children. He explained that the power of prayer is such a large and great element of the world.
So glad to hear that your mom was able to speak this Sunday. That's such a nice Easter treat!
Your Friend,
Lizzie G.

Dear Jennifer and family. I just learned of your mom’s accident today, through the large network of people she has worked with that have been touched by knowing her. I am so very happy to know that Maureen is fighting her way through this trauma and I am humbled by the amount of love and faith her family has shown. It has been several years since I had the pleasure of working with Maureen. I remember her as such a wonderful, warm person and it is not at all surprising that her daughter possesses those same qualities. God bless you all and all my love to Maureen and I pray that her recovery remains speedy. Toni Held McNaughton and family.

Jen,
I think it's wonderful news that your Mom is now able to communicate and is moving to the step down unit. We will continue to pray for her as the hard work of recovery and therapy begins. I am sure she will breeze through this with the support of you and Dad and the rest of the family.
Please let Mom know we are praying for her.
